“Future Proof” SSR4 MK2

Back in 2022, when Novritsch first released the SSR4 AEG Airsoft rifle, it was slated to be the “end all, be all” entry-level best bang-for-buck AEG rifle that is fully pre-upgraded out of the box, with 2 versions put to market, the stockier full metal receiver version and the lightweight polymer receiver version. Now the original SSR4 had a lot of things going for it but ultimately was nothing too special as it did what it was designed to do and nothing more. And so back to the drawing board, it was. Novritsch’s development team has set up to research and push the boundaries of the SSR4 platform. A culmination of development experience gained from the creation of the first generation SSR4 has resulted in this long-awaited MK2 version.

The SSR4 MK2 by Novritsch features all of the same benefits as the MK1 version with its built-in programmable ETU and quick-spring change system but with many more added improvements and QoL changes. Firstly, the externals are now only available as a solid full-metal construction as the SSR4 MK1 polymer version had issues with durability and parts fitting. The upper and lower receiver has been updated from a standard AR-style receiver to a more attractive and modern-looking billet-style receiver with lightning cuts strewn about and the mock forward assist removed, creating an overall smaller footprint. The receiver also has deep engraved markings and branding compared to the original which was just laser markings. The handguard and stock have also been updated with the handguard having 2 metal integrated QD sling points with an angled forend and a new stock that is smooth to adjust and deploy, adding to the gun’s aesthetics and overall functionality. The gun also features an ambidextrous magazine release compared to the original MK1 variant.

Internally, the MK2 boasts the same 16:1 reinforced CNC steel high-speed gear set and 30K high-torque motor as the original MK1 variant which allows for rapid-fire and quick follow-up shots that can provide high RPS (Up to 25 RPS, 5 more compared to the MK1) when using 11.1v batteries. A 6.03 precision barrel and a MAXX-style rotary hop-up are also preinstalled to give you greater fine-tuning capabilities and overall accuracy. The gun also features a vastly improved quick-change spring system for those who need to swap between lower and higher power springs for different game scenarios, with the new centering buffer tube screw, simply insert the included Allen key and it will seat automatically into the socket, thus allowing the end-user to remove and access the quick-change spring tab underneath with ease. The gearbox construction has been reinforced further and is fitted with Novritsch’s signature ETU, offering 5 levels of pre-cocking, and binary, burst, and full-auto firing modes. The MK2 gearbox also features a 2-way adjustable trigger, allowing the end-user to adjust trigger pre-travel distance and tension in an instant by simply using the included Allen key.
