The Mk18 rifle is probably one of the most Popular Modern rifles to date, Having its origins in the US Army as a CQB / Mid-range capable
rifle. The CQBR, designated Mk 18 Mod 0, is a variant of the M4 family
of carbines. Designed for Close Quarters Battle (CQB), the CQBR is
significantly shorter than its M4 / M4A1 cousins, with a barrel length
of 10.5 inches compared to the M4’s 14.5 inches. The Mk 18 rifle is also adopted by some of the major US special forces units and has been used by
basically every unit in SOCOM. The Mk18 is also vastly
popular in video games like Call Of Duty and movies like the
award-winning Zero Dark Thirty.
Cyma Gas Systems (CGS) has been making waves with its line of accessories for the Tokyo Marui MWS and its new line of pre-upgraded airsoft M4 gas blowback rifles. The fully
licensed Cybergun Colt MK18 Mod 1 GBB airsoft rifle is one of CGS’s premier airsoft
GBBR M4 to hit the market. The Cybergun Colt MK18 Mod 1 GBB airsoft rifle is a
robust well-made replica with its slick 10.5 metal DD style Picatinny rail that allows
you to mount attachments like optics, laser modules, flashlights,
grips, and any other Picatinny attachments. The Cybergun Colt MK18 Mod 1 feels
firm in your hands and has no movement with any of its parts, while
it’s not Cerakoted like the original Tokyo Marui MWS airsoft guns, it still manages to feel great with a nice smooth
upper and lower receiver that is made of metal. the Cybergun Colt MK18 Mod 1 has all the correct
Colt markings on its receiver which adds to its overall look.
The Cybergun Colt MK18 Mod 1 GBB airsoft rifle also comes with the CGS Lancer magazine that has the correct Lancer markings due to it being fully licensed by Lancer Tactical, as well as the magazine’s transparent
shell that allows you to see the dummy rounds inside. The magazine feels very sturdy in your hand, this is due to its shell being made of a high-strength plastic. The gas is loaded into the mag
from the bottom, there is a button on the bottom that if you push it, it will reveal the gas charging port. We recommend that you use green gas and that you fill
your mag for seven seconds, as we find this is a sweet spot for this
magazine. Additionally, there is an option with this magazine to remove a
small section of the bottom to make it easier to fill your mags. All
you need to do is pop out the center part of the magazine and you can
fill it without removing the bottom every time.
Internally, the Cybergun Colt MK18 Mod 1 GBB airsoft rifle has CGS’s Trigger box
and bolt set, Which is an upgraded version of the venerable Tokyo Marui MWS system. This trigger box and bolt set are packed full of features. The
difference between the CGS trigger box and the standard MWS trigger box
is that the CGS set does not use the ZET plate. Instead, CGS has opted for a more
realistic style bolt locking system. Both the bolt and the trigger box are made of
steel, this gives this MK18 a heavy recoil feeling when shooting which
packs a punch with every shot. Also, the trigger box boasts an
adjustable trigger so you can truly fine-tune it in accordance to your shooting style, making each Cybergun MK18 unique to its user. CGS has also changed its
hop-up design, Doing away with the standard wheel hop-up that we see in
the standard Tokyo Marui GBBR M4s. The CGS line of M4 gas airsoft rifles will have a
flat hop-up wheel that requires a flathead screwdriver to adjust. This
allows the user to adjust the hop-up easily and more accurately without taking
apart the lower and upper receivers.
